NexusDrive Elite quick release wheel-side kit: overview

This wheel-side quick release fits a steering wheel to the NexusDrive Elite Sport and Elite Pro direct drive bases, which ship with the base-side half only.

It is full metal and guided by a rail, so wheels click on easily and stay locked with zero backlash, even at full direct drive torque.

The kit adds a 30 mm wheel spacer and a 70 mm wheel adapter for a wide range of rims. The only wearing part, the spring-loaded pin, is a standard part you can replace yourself.

Building a sim racing or flight setup

Base, rim and pedals. In a modular setup the wheel base holds the force feedback motor, the rim clips on with a quick release and the pedals connect to the base or by USB. Rims and pedals must suit your base, and the base decides which platforms are supported.

Direct drive. Direct drive bases attach the rim straight to the motor for the most detailed and strongest feedback. They need a rigid cockpit or a strong desk mount.

Load cell pedals. A load cell brake measures pressure, not travel, like a real car. It is the single upgrade that improves lap-time consistency the most.

Setup and use

1. Bolt the 70 mm adapter (and spacer if needed) to your wheel.
2. Bolt the quick release to the adapter with the M5 bolts.
3. Slide the wheel onto the base until it locks.

Care and maintenance

Keep the rail clean; replace the spring pin if it wears.
