Who the dp-mode streaming converter is for

Focus Vision owners adding lossless PC VR.

• VIVE Focus Vision and Focus 3 owners
• Enterprise and training fleets
• Location-based VR venues
• Education
• Developers

Features in detail

DP mode

Lossless.

Adapters

USB-C and MiniDP.

30 W PD

Power.

0.7 m converter

Box.

Charging cable

Included.

Compatibility

Supports VIVE Focus Vision; requires the DP-mode Wired Streaming Cable and a VR-ready PC.

Finding the right VIVE part

VIVE has several headset families that do not share parts. The Focus series (Focus 3, Focus Vision) and XR series (XR Elite) are standalone headsets with their own controllers, batteries and gaskets; the Cosmos series is a PC VR family with its own face plates and controllers; the Pro series (VIVE Pro, Pro Eye, Pro 2) is PC VR with base-station tracking; VIVE Flow and VIVE Eagle are glasses. Always match the compatibility line with your headset.

Tracking generations. Base Station 1.0 and SteamVR Base Station 2.0 cannot be mixed in one room. The 2018 controllers and Tracker 3.0 work with both; original VIVE controllers and Tracker 1.0 need 1.0 stations. VIVE Ultimate Trackers use inside-out cameras and a wireless dongle instead of base stations.

PC streaming. Standalone VIVE headsets stream PC VR over Wi-Fi or USB-C; DisplayPort mode (Focus Vision only) needs the DisplayPort-mode cable and converter for visually lossless image quality.

Setup and use

1. Connect GPU DP, USB-A and power to the converter.
2. Connect the streaming cable.
3. Launch streaming.

Care and maintenance

Avoid sharp bends and knots, coil the cable loosely for storage, never pull it out by the cord, and route it away from feet and chair wheels. Check connectors for damage before use.

How to choose the right VR accessory

Check the exact headset model first. VR accessories are rarely universal: straps, facial interfaces, lens protectors and cases are shaped for one headset generation, so a Quest 2 part will not fit a Quest 3. The compatibility section above lists every headset the part is designed for.

Third-party vs original parts. This is a third-party accessory designed to fit the listed headsets; it is not made or endorsed by the headset manufacturer. Third-party parts often add features the original lacks (extra padding, built-in batteries, washable materials) at a lower price, but they do not change the headset's own warranty terms.

For shared and commercial use, choose wipeable PU-leather or silicone surfaces, keep spare facial interfaces, and use disposable hygiene masks or caps so each user gets a clean contact surface. For PC VR, confirm your PC's ports and cable routing before buying cables or cable-management systems.

Setup and use

1. Clean the ceiling surface.
2. Stick the holders in a line or grid over the play area.
3. Clip the cable into the holders, leaving slack to the PC.

Care and maintenance

Tighten screws and clamps before each session, check for cracks or slipping, and never exceed the mount's load or clamp range.

VR accessories are rarely universal: a Quest 3 strap does not fit a Quest 3S facial interface slot, a VIVE Pro link box is different from a VIVE Pro 2 link box, and base stations 1.0 and 2.0 cannot be mixed. The compatibility section above lists every headset the part is designed for.

For PC VR connections, confirm your graphics card's outputs (DisplayPort, USB-C with DisplayPort, HDMI) and your USB ports before buying cables, link boxes or wireless adapters. Longer cables add freedom of movement but need careful routing to avoid tripping.

For comfort and hygiene, shared headsets benefit from wipeable silicone or leather-style covers and spare facial interfaces, while battery straps and charging docks make long sessions and quick turnarounds easier.

Setup and use

1. Connect USB, Mini DisplayPort and power from the backpack PC.
2. Plug the headset's all-in-one cable into the output.
3. Mount the box securely on the backpack.

Care and maintenance

Keep it clean and dry, store it away from direct sunlight and heat, and inspect cables and connectors for damage before use. Wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth; do not use solvents.

1. Connect the power adapter to the extension.
2. Route the cable along the wall.
3. Connect it to the base station.

Care and maintenance

Avoid sharp bends and knots, coil the cable loosely for storage, never pull it out by the cord, and route it away from feet and chair wheels. Check connectors for damage before use.

Compatibility

Compatible with VIVE Link Box (Cosmos and 2.0), Cosmos Converter, Wired Streaming Kit/Converter (DP mode), Focus Vision and Focus 3.

1. Connect to the device.
2. Plug into the wall.
3. Check that everything is fitted securely and works as expected before your next session.

Care and maintenance

Keep it clean and dry, store it away from direct sunlight and heat, and inspect it for wear before use. Wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth; do not use solvents.
