NexusMount direct drive front-mount plate: overview

This direct drive wheel mount plate is the plate-only part of our NexusMount system. It bolts between the NexusMount side mounts and front-mounts a direct drive wheel base, so the motor sits face-on to you with nothing in the way and no flex under full torque.

The idea behind NexusMount is simple: when you change wheel base, you only change the plate, not the whole cockpit. The base structure is thick-walled extruded aluminium and this plate is machined from high-grade aluminium, 15 mm thick, then anodised.

Please note that this listing is the plate only. It needs the NexusMount base kit (included in our NexusMount front-mount wheel kit) or a NexusRig Velocity cockpit, which already has the side mounts.

Who the nexusMount direct drive front-mount plate is for

Drivers with a front-mount direct drive wheel base:

• Owners of a NexusMount base kit who are changing wheel base
• NexusRig Velocity owners moving to a front-mounted base
• Builders of aluminium profile and DIY rigs who want a stiff, future-proof wheel mount

Features in detail

15 mm thick aluminium

At 15 mm the plate is extremely rigid, with no weak points, so the wheel base cannot twist the mount under heavy force feedback.

Front-mount layout

Front mounting bolts the base by its face, which is the stiffest way to hold a direct drive motor and leaves clean space under the base for cables.

Part of a modular system

The NexusMount system lets you swap only the plate when you change wheel base, keeping your side mounts, positions and cockpit unchanged.

Quick adjustment

Once fitted to the side mounts (supplied with the base kit and with the NexusRig Velocity), the plate is quick to reposition precisely.

Hardware included

All the hardware to fix the plate to the side mounts and the base is in the box.

Compatibility

Mounting system: requires the NexusMount base kit for aluminium profile rigs (total width 580 mm with the base kit) or a NexusRig Velocity cockpit. With the base kit it fits our aluminium profile rigs (NexusRig Fortress, Formula Hybrid, Titan, Vanguard, Sprint, Rookie, NexusHaul Truck Simulator), tube rigs (NexusRig Velocity, Velocity Carbon, GT Hybrid) and other DIY extrusion builds.

Wheel bases (front mount): Simucube 3 Sport, Pro and Ultimate; Simucube 2 Sport, Pro and Ultimate; Simagic Alpha Mini, Alpha and Alpha Ultimate; VNM Direct Drive Elite, Premier, Supreme and Xtreme; VRS DirectForce Pro 15 Nm and 20 Nm; Immsource ET3 and ET5; Leo Bodnar SimSteering 2; Sim-Lab DDX26 and DDX39 TorqueSync; SimXperience AccuForce Pro V2.

If your base is not listed, email us its model and we will confirm the fit.

Building a sim racing or flight setup

Base, rim and pedals. In a modular setup the wheel base holds the force feedback motor, the rim clips on with a quick release and the pedals connect to the base or by USB. Rims and pedals must suit your base, and the base decides which platforms are supported.

Direct drive. Direct drive bases attach the rim straight to the motor for the most detailed and strongest feedback. They need a rigid cockpit or a strong desk mount.

Load cell pedals. A load cell brake measures pressure, not travel, like a real car. It is the single upgrade that improves lap-time consistency the most.

Setup and use

1. Make sure the NexusMount base kit (or your NexusRig Velocity side mounts) is installed.
2. Bolt the plate between the side mounts loosely.
3. Fix the wheel base to the plate through its front mounting holes.
4. Set the height, angle and reach, then tighten all bolts fully.
5. Re-check the bolts after the first sessions with high torque.

Care and maintenance

Direct drive bases put constant load through the mount, so check the bolts every few weeks. Wipe the anodised surface with a soft damp cloth; avoid abrasive pads.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this plate on its own?

No. It needs the NexusMount base kit or the side mounts of a NexusRig Velocity. If you have neither, choose the complete NexusMount front-mount wheel kit.

Which wheel bases does it front-mount?

Most popular front-mount direct drive bases. The full list of supported bases is in the compatibility section above; if yours is not there, email us its model.

Why is front mounting better?

It holds the motor by its face, which is the most rigid way to mount a direct drive base.

If I change wheel base later, what do I need?

Only a new plate for the new base; the side mounts and the rest of the NexusMount system stay.

How long does delivery take?

Shipping is free worldwide. Orders are dispatched within 1–3 business days and usually arrive within 4–8 business days in total, with tracking by email.

Can I return it if it is not right for me?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery, as long as it is new, unused and in its original packaging. Email metanexusxr@gmail.com with your order number to start a return.

Is it covered by a warranty?

Yes, a 2-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects on products bought from our store.
