Shifter mount with side chassis support: overview

This kit adds an extra side support to your aluminium profile rig and tops it with a pre-drilled second-generation shifter mount, so your shifter sits rigidly exactly where your hand drops from the wheel.

The support is black anodised 80x40 profile with brackets; the shifter plate is pre-drilled for one of the widest ranges of H-pattern and sequential shifters on the market.

The extra profile also gives you room for flight sim mounts and other accessories.

Mounting on aluminium profile rigs

The 8 mm slot standard. Most modern sim rigs use 40 mm-based aluminium extrusion (40x40, 40x80, 40x160) with 8 mm slots. Mounts fix with M8 bolts and T-nuts that slide into the slot, so they can be moved and re-angled at any time.

Rigidity and access. Mount heavy or high-force devices (handbrakes, shifters, wheel bases) as close to a vertical upright or cross member as possible. Leave room to get in and out of the seat.

Tools. A set of hex keys (mainly 6 mm for M8) covers nearly every mount. Snug every bolt, test, then do a final tightening once the position is right.

Setup and use

1. Fit the side support to your rig with the brackets.
2. Bolt your shifter to the pre-drilled plate.
3. Set height and position, then tighten.

Check bolts regularly – shifters see repeated force.
