Active force feedback shifter: overview

This force feedback shifter is an H-pattern shifter that fights back. A high-torque servo motor drives resistance, vibration and kickback through the lever based on what your virtual car is actually doing, so you feel drivetrain load, engine vibration and the grind of a missed shift.

It is fully integrated with SimHub telemetry with effectively zero latency, and it can lock the gate dynamically under load to stop mis-shifts – just like a real gearbox that will not let you force a gear.

Built on a proven heavy mechanical H-pattern design and machined from aerospace-grade billet aluminium, it is the most physical shifting experience you can add to a sim rig.

Compatibility

PC with SimHub for the active effects. Mounts on sim rigs with a suitable shifter mount; it is a large, heavy shifter, so use an oversized or reinforced shifter mount such as our NexusMount oversized shifter mount.

Works in any PC sim that SimHub supports for telemetry.

Building a sim racing or flight setup

Base, rim and pedals. In a modular setup the wheel base holds the force feedback motor, the rim clips on with a quick release and the pedals connect to the base or by USB. Rims and pedals must suit your base, and the base decides which platforms are supported.

Direct drive. Direct drive bases attach the rim straight to the motor for the most detailed and strongest feedback. They need a rigid cockpit or a strong desk mount.

Load cell pedals. A load cell brake measures pressure, not travel, like a real car. It is the single upgrade that improves lap-time consistency the most.

Setup and use

1. Mount the shifter on a rigid shifter mount on the side you prefer.
2. Connect it to your PC and power, and install SimHub.
3. Enable the shifter's effects in SimHub and choose the gate layout (4 to 6 speeds).
4. Tune feedback intensity per car and test in-game; use the rotary encoder to fine-tune in session.

Care and maintenance

Keep the mechanism free of dust and check mounting bolts regularly, as the servo applies real force to the mount. Use only the supplied power arrangement.

Returns
