Mechanical sequential shifter: overview

This sequential shifter recreates the true mechanical feel of a race-car dog-box gearbox. An inertia mechanism transfers real momentum on each shift, so you feel the kick of a genuine sequential selector rather than a simple click.

Dual-stage engagement reproduces the resistance and preload of a dog-box, with progressive mechanical feedback. You can tune the feel from light and fast to heavy and mechanical to suit the car.

It is CNC-machined entirely from solid billet aluminium with hard black anodising, with ball bearings, compression springs and internal dampers for consistent engagement.

Connects to PC by USB. Mounts on most sim rigs with a suitable shifter mount; use a sturdy or oversized shifter mount for best results.

Building a sim racing or flight setup

Base, rim and pedals. In a modular setup the wheel base holds the force feedback motor, the rim clips on with a quick release and the pedals connect to the base or by USB. Rims and pedals must suit your base, and the base decides which platforms are supported.

Direct drive. Direct drive bases attach the rim straight to the motor for the most detailed and strongest feedback. They need a rigid cockpit or a strong desk mount.

Load cell pedals. A load cell brake measures pressure, not travel, like a real car. It is the single upgrade that improves lap-time consistency the most.

Setup and use

1. Mount the shifter on a rigid shifter mount, left or right.
2. Connect it to your PC.
3. Map upshift and downshift in your sim.
4. Tune the shift feel to your preference.

Care and maintenance

Check mounting bolts regularly. Wipe with a dry cloth; the all-metal mechanism needs no other routine care.
